Description
Vetheuil is situated on the banks of the Seine River where Monet lived with his family. He made several paintings of the village from various different viewpoints and through all the seasons.
In this image the church tower rises above surrounding snow-covered buildings, a red roofed structure adds a splash of colour to otherwise
muted tones. The loose brushmarks in the foreground highlight the wintry conditions as the weather changes and the snow begins to melt, the atmosphere is calm and still.
